Grace's Conversation Level 1 Live Class was a total game-changer for me when it came to learning Korean. At first, I was super nervous to talk out loud, but Grace made the whole thing feel like we were just hanging out, chatting with friends.
Her lessons were totally well thought out and never felt like I was stuck in a textbook. There was always space for us to just talk and get some practice in. What I liked the most was that she didn't just throw new words and grammar at us; she made sure we could actually use it in real conversations. It felt so natural to remember new stuff because we kept building on what we already knew.
And the speaking part was amazing! Instead of just memorizing random phrases, we actually had to use them while talking. It was like real-life practice without the pressure of messing up in front of actual native speakers. By the time the class ended, I could totally introduce myself, ask for food at a restaurant, and ask basic questions with easy.
This whole experience was amazing, and if you're looking to start talking Korean without the nerves, you have to check out this class. Grace is really good at what she does and she has made this scary journey less intimidating for beginners.
As with the Hangeul Live class , the conversation Level 1 Live Class was really soo much fun. The lessons are challenging but really enjoyable. Grace and GI are super supportive, always encouraging and full of energy. The classes are small, different ages, and with varying abilities. We are encouraged to sign on to Kakao talk, where we live up to the Sooda part of name - Grace & Gi actively participate in the Sooda and make it very inclusive.
In terms of the lessons' - there is structure and flow. Grammar and Vocab learnt in previous lessons are applied in future lessons. The Dialogues are not boring and everyone has to participate ! You do notice the amount of progress you have achieved, when you can recognise the words in K-Dramas, Kpop songs or menus and grocery items.
The success of Grace's and Gi's lesson can be measured on how quickly the group has signed on to the next lesson - we cannot wait !
Grace is an absolute treat to spend time with in these classes. Always lightning quick to answer any questions that may arise and really knows how to explain everything she teaches in a multitude of levels in case you didn't grasp it the first time. I'm much more confident in my abilities to read and process korean language now and I will likely be back to continue honing my skills in level 2. Also a shoutout to Gi for staying on top of everything behind the scenes and being incredibly helpful whenever needed.
This is the perfect followup to the Hangeul class putting to work what we've learned. Grace is a gifted teacher stepping us beyond reading the page into thinking about what we are saying or want to say and intuitively guides us along the path of dialog and ultimately into conversation.
TLDR: I would definitely recommend this class, especially if you're trying to learn how to actually speak. You'll learn essential vocabulary, grammar rules and Korean culture - to start having real conversations in Korean.
I found the Conversation Level 1 Live Class to be incredibly helpful. While I've tried to build on what I learned in the Hangeul class, I've struggled with many of the grammar nuances.
Korean does require an understanding of the grammar rules to be able to speak effectively. Grace helped me sort out many of the challenges I was having.
The vocabulary and and grammar that I learned was super useful to start having basic conversations in Korean. Speaking that you can apply to real life situations and with the confidence to start improvising off of what was taught. I'd definitely recommend this course if you're trying to go beyond just reading/writing Hangeul.
Such an awesome class!
--In-depth explanations
--Great balance of speaking and reading
--Engaging and interactive learning environment
--Homework assignments that reinforce what you've learned
Overall, a very well-rounded and immersive experience that I'd highly recommend ! !
